Mesotherapy is a medical technique devised by a French doctor called Dr Michel Pistor as far back as 1950. It is a technique which uses microinjections to introduce vitamins, minerals, anti-oxidants and homeopathic based medicines into the mesoderm which is the middle layer of the skin.

Pre-mixed Mesotherapy substances containing: vitamins (vitamins A, B, C, D, E, K), minerals, amino-acids, anti-oxidants, hyaluronic acid and homeopathic based medicines, are injected into the middle layer of the skin via very small injections. This technique facilitates the delivery of these nourishing substances directly to the target, therefore nourishing, rejuvenating the skin and stimulating its metabolism. When injected into areas of cellulite, the local metabolism is stimulated and cellulite dispersed. The idea of Mesotherapy is that you get these active substances directly to the site requiring treatment. It is a much more precise treatment requiring much lower doses than the alternative of taking daily high doses of vitamin and mineral supplements in tablet form.
A major theory as to how Mesotherapy works is that it stimulates new collagen production. This could be partly due to the substances being injected, but also due to the injections themselves. Research shows us that even if we were to just insert needles into the skin, without injecting anything, new collagen forms rejuvenating the skin long term. This is the basis of how acupuncture works for rejuvenation.
Unlike many of our other treatments, Mesotherapy does require more treatments initially and more maintenance throughout the year. Depending on the specific treatment, a regimen of 1-2 treatments per week for the first 4-8 weeks is needed, and this is followed a maintenance treatment every 3 months. Once a satisfactory result is achieved, the results can be long lasting, but this depends on the continuing lifestyle factors of individual patients. A healthy lifestyle with a healthy balanced diet, regular exercise and drinking plenty of water will help prolong the results.
If you are having botox, filler or other treatments with us, Mesotherapy for the face can complement these treatments wonderfully, improving the skin texture and tone even more. The other treatments will remove the lines and wrinkles and restore lost volume but Mesotherapy will nourish and rejuvenate the skin underneath. So we are rejuvenating inside and out!
Mesotherapy has existed for over 50 years, and in France there are over 15,000 practitioners using Mesotherapy. Mesotherapy is actually taught in medical schools in that country. Mesotherapy is gaining widespread acceptance throughout the world, and in the USA there was a staggering increase of Mesotherapy treatments in 2006 of over 500%. Mesotherapy uses natural vitamins and minerals as well as harmless homeopathic medicines and is therefore very safe.
